Research Participation in a Study on Walking and Creative Thinking

As we get older, how walking influences our thinking can change. “Thinking” areas of the brain may play a greater role in maintaining stability, but they may also enhance creative thinking.

Researchers from the School of Psychological Sciences at the University of Tasmania are seeking participants aged either 18–40 years or, 60+ years to take part in a study investigating age-related differences in how walking influences thinking.

Participants will complete simple cognitive tasks while either seated or walking at a comfortable pace on a treadmill.

The study session will take approximately 45 minutes and will take place at the Psychology Research Centre on the Sandy Bay campus.

Participants will receive either course research participation credit, or a $10 multi-use voucher as compensation for their time.
